Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all have had a great week! Today I am sharing my winter skincare routine. This routine has been my tried and true routine for about a year now, and I have added to it since the weather has turned colder. I would say my skin is combination skin, I used to have really oily skin, that was prone to breakouts, and was always looking for products to control the oil, but as I have gotten older my skin has changed to more dry/combination skin. It is nice that I don't have to carry blotting papers everywhere with me, but it has been a challenge to find a new skin care routine to fit my changing skin. I like to look for products now that help with brightening and hydrating my skin as well as help with wrinkles.
I have been using the Boscia brand ever since I was pregnant which was about a year and a half ago, and I have fallen in love with all of their products. The
cleanser is so gentle and it is great at removing all of my makeup. I have also used the Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil (
here) and it does a wonderful job of removing all of your makeup, and then I follow up with the Purifying Cleansing Gel. Once I have cleansed my face I always like to use a toner, whether it be with a cotton pad or just a spray on toner, I feel it is so refreshing and it preps your skin for you moisturizer. The
Balancing Facial Tonic is so light and absorbs into your skin leaving it soft and smooth. In the morning I follow up with the
Oil-Free Daily Hydration moisturizer, and what's great is that it has SPF 15 in it, so you won't have to follow up with a sunscreen.
To follow my moisturizer in the morning, I like to apply the Sunday Riley
Good Genes , this helps brighten and plump up your skin, and gives you a nice radiant glow. It also helps with any hyper-pigmentation, which I have noticed a difference in my redness and dark spots after using this for a period of time. At night, I love the Sunday Riley
Luna Sleeping Night Oil, this helps fight wrinkles and again plumps your skin and even makes your pores look smaller. I thought using an oil would break out my skin, but it is the opposite, it has helped my skin tremendously, and helps with previous breakouts and the scarring.
During the winter my skin gets so dry and flaky if I don't use a strong moisturizer. I came across Clinique's
Moisture Surge Intense recently, and oh my goodness the difference it has made in my skins dryness. It is a gel creme, so it doesn't feel heavy or like you are wearing a mask, but it absorbs into your skin and it feels so hydrating the second you put it on. I usually put this all over my face at night, and sometimes in the morning if my skin is feeling extra dry.
About once a week I like to use a face scrub that helps remove all the dead skin and helps exfoliate my skin. I have been loving the
Fresh Sugar Face Polish it has real brown sugar and strawberries in it, and it smells amazing! It is great at removing all dead skin and helps with dullness and dryness, so your skin will appear brighter and more radiant, it's perfect for the winter months.
These are all products that have helped with my dry/combination skin, and that I have been using for quite a while, so I know they work for me. I like to have a routine of products and these are all great, and have made a difference in my skins texture, and brightness. I hope this post is helpful for you and you are able to try out some of these products. Thanks so much for reading, and have a great weekend!
