Blue White and Bows

Top: Loft // Bag: Sole Society // Shoes: Zara // White Jeans: Gap

I am so happy it is finally Spring! Who else is happy for warmer weather and to not have to wear a winter coat?! I was wishing I lived in Florida this past weekend, I ran my first 5K of the year and it was the yuckiest weather to run in! It was misting rain, cold, and windy. YUCK! But, it was fun and I really had a great time running it, and the upside, I had my fastest time to date, so I was pretty pumped about that! My goal is to complete at least 3 runs this year so hopefully the weather will cooperate better for the next one!
I am loving all of the light blue colored shirts that are coming out for spring, they are perfect to pair with white denim for a light and bright look. This top is so lightweight but is long sleeve, which makes it great to transition into spring. It has such sweet detail like a button cuff and an empire waist with some pleating. It is kind of sheer so I did opt to wear a cami underneath.
These shoes were a purchase I wasn't super confident in. I wasn't sure of the quality because they were only $22, so I didn't hold my breath for them to be comfortable or anything that I would wear multiple times. But let me tell you! I wore them the same day they arrived and they were so comfortable and they didn't give me blisters like most flats do! I originally wanted to nude color but they have been sold out and they haven't been restocked, but I will let you know if they do! They are so cute for spring and add just a little bit of trendiness to a plain, classic outfit!
One place I wanted to share that I love to shop for designer inspired handbags and shoes, is Sole Society. They have such a great selection of handbags that come out each season that are great quality and have great detail. There are also a lot of choices of styles like cross body, totes, and shoulder style bags at a great price point.

Spring Shoe Line-up

One of my favorite things to purchase for spring are shoes! I feel like there are so many different styles and colors available, it makes it hard to choose! These are some of my favorites that I have purchased so far, and think they would be great staples for any wardrobe and they will carry you into summer as well!

Perforated Booties: Nordstrom
These booties are a spring staple for me, they work perfect for cooler spring days where it's still too chilly to wear sandals. Plus, they come in a few different styles here, and colors!

Gladiator Sandals: Target
These sandals were such a great purchase! I love that they are basic sandals that can be worn with dresses, shorts and jeans. They dress up your outfit with the studded detail and are so comfortable.

Platform Wedge: Nordstrom
These wedges are a spring and summer staple, they were a popular style last spring and summer and they are back again this year. They are a dupe for the Chloe espadrilles and are a great price point. They are so comfortable and versatile, they can be worn casually or with dresses. They come in a another style here and other colors too, I have the taupe suede. They will easily be a go to for spring and summer!

Slip on sneakers: Nordstrom
I purchased these slip ons right before our trip to Cancun, I was looking for an easy shoe to travel in and these exceeded my expectations. They were so comfortable to walk in, and we did a lot of walking in the airport! I just love a basic white sneaker that goes with everything, they are so easy and make putting outfits together so simple.

Cutout Bootie: Nordstrom
These are another bootie that works really well in the spring and summer. The cutout detail makes them breathable and not too hot. The ones I have are from Target but they are sold out online. The designer ones are linked above.

Jeweled Flats: Amazon
I caved and bought these shoes about a month ago, and am so glad I did. I had seen them on another blogger and thought they were so pretty. They are designer inspired and look and feel so nice, the quality is amazing. They are actually comfortable too, I sized up 1/2 size and would recommend you do the same. These are such great spring shoes and are like adding jewelry to your feet!

Open Toe Bootie: Amazon
An open toe bootie is essential for spring. It's great for those warmer days when you want to show off your freshly done pedicure. These are an olive color which I think is a great spring neutral color that can go with some cutoffs and a plain t-shirt.

I hope this inspires your spring shoe purchases, thanks so much for stopping by!

Dining Room Redo

Happy Thursday! Today I am writing a different kind of post, one that I've been wanting to write for a while to share more about me and what I like to do in my spare time. Home decor and design is a hobby I have had ever since I bought my first house, I just love adding my own personal style to a room and seeing it change and evolve as I change and grow in my style.
We have been in our house for about 2 1/2 years now and I am continually changing and updating it to reflect more of our style and how we use the spaces in it. I loved our house since the first day we toured it, and thought it was perfect the day we moved in, I didn't want to change a thing. But one thing I have found, now that we have been here for a while, is that I loved the house the way it was then because it had all of the previous owners furniture and things in it. Now that we have moved in and have added our own furniture and accessories, things don't always go together or flow the way I would like them to. One little disclaimer before I continue, I am definitely not an interior designer and not a design expert, I just thought it would be fun to bring you along on this journey of making our house a home.
Since moving in we have done a few renovations, some needed (because of failed plumbing and flooding, I hate water issues!), and others just cosmetic that we thought would update our home - I'll share more on those updates in a later post. One update that I had wanted to change was painting our dining room. At first, I loved the color and paint design in this room, but after living here for a while and once we got our furniture moved in the space, I didn't like how it flowed with the rest of the house. The rest of our main floor is very bright and airy, and then there is the dining room right off the kitchen that is dark and it almost felt dungeon like when the lights were off. It also seemed much darker with our dark furniture in it and everything just kind of blended together. So I thought about changing the paint color, I was reluctant to do so mainly because of the design on the wall, it was painted in matte and glossy stripes. It looked really neat it just wasn't my style and didn't fit in with what I wanted our house to look like. So I looked on Pinterest at different paint colors and a lot of paint swatches later we settled on this color from Benjamin Moore, White Blush. It is such a soft blush, off-white color that changes color based on how the light hits it. It can look cream, blush, and almost beige depending on the time of day. I was so impressed with how much a paint color can change a room, our furniture now stands out and looks like it fits in the room, whereas before it looked almost too big and bulky for the space. It is now a room that flows with the rest of the main floor and it complements our kitchen very nicely.
I have accessorized with pieces from places like Home Goods, Pier 1, Hobby Lobby, and Target. I added a gold accent mirror on the wall and a gold accent table in front of the window. I am by no means done accessorizing but I feel that too is a process that comes with time.
I am continually looking for ways to incorporate our family style into each room to make our house our space that we can enjoy. I hope you all enjoyed today's post and let me know in the comments if you want to see more home decor and design posts!

Stripes & Camo

Booties other colors on sale here // white jeans // camo jacket // stripe tee // necklace - similar

Hey guys! I hope you all are having a great week so far! I wanted to share this casual outfit I wore this past weekend with you all. I think it's a great transitional outfit for spring and can be worn so many different ways. I love anything camo, and having a lightweight jacket for spring and even summer for those chilly nights is a necessity. I was so happy when I found this one on sale plus an additional 60% off, so it was a must purchase for me! It's such a cute jacket that has a tie at the waist to cinch it in. Oh, and let's not forget about these pink booties!! I was looking for some new spring shoes that were easy and comfy, and these fit the bill and then some! They are so cute and the blush color is neutral enough to wear with a lot of different outfits. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week, thanks for stopping by!

My new favorite shoes

Studded Flats // Top (Extra 40% off!) // Jeans // Earrings // Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis

Happy Friday guys! It is rare that I actually get to write a post and get it up in the same day, so I am taking full advantage of this opportunity! I am so ready for the weekend! We don't have any plans but those seem to be the best weekends because we just do whatever and end up having a great time. Plus it's nice to have a relaxing weekend with no plans after traveling.
Okay, can we just talk for a minute about how gorgeous these shoes are?!?! I was in heaven when I saw them on another blogger (here), and had to have them! I have always been a fan of the Valentino shoes, any of them, but just never thought they were in my budget for shoes. I can spend money on handbags no problem, but shoes are another story for me. I feel because I am so hard on them and living in a place where the weather changes constantly, I just know I would get stuck in either a snow storm or a rain storm in them and they would be ruined. Soooo, when I saw these I just knew I could afford them and I would be too upset if something happened to them. Now don't get me wrong they are still pricey for shoes (under $120) but compared to what the actual ones cost, these are a way better price! I would definitely size up 1/2 size, that's what I did and they fit perfect! I wore them all day a few weekends ago, and they didn't hurt my feet at all! They are very good quality and are perfect for dressing up spring outfits! I think they are like jewelry for my feet and go with any outfit, they also come in a ton of different colors, I am wearing the nude patent color.
I hope you all have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by!
